Description

Controlled Requirements Expression (CoRE) was originally developed in the late 1970’s to address the need for improved requirements expression and analysis.

This course is designed to teach the skills necessary to capture, express and analyse requirements effectively in CoRE. Delegates are introduced to the concept of recursive functional decomposition and the notation used to express and analyse functions in CoRE.

It is ideal for systems engineers wishing to understand and express system-level requirements, quality engineers responsible for reviewing a requirements model, requirements engineers required to express requirements using CoRE as well as anyone who must fully understand a requirements model in order to achieve a correct and successful implementation.

Content

  • The building blocks of CoRE
  • The CoRE methodolgy
  • Operational, functional and non-functional requirements
  • The CoRE requirements model
  • How to draw Viewpoint Diagrams
  • How to write Tabular Entry Diagrams
  • How to write Node Notes
  • How to generate Data Composition Diagrams

  • How to combine the building blocks of CoRE into a specification

Who should attend

Software engineers and systems engineers who wish to be able to expresses unambiguous requirements using the CoRE notation.

Prerequisites
